Summer Footy

• Years 0, 1 & 2: 4pm – 5pm (5 aside, 1.5m x 1m goals, 2 games per week, ref provided)
• Years 3 & 4: 4pm – 5pm (7 aside, 4m x 1.5m goals with goalkeepers, 2 games per week, ref provided)
• Years 5 & 6: 5pm – 6pm (7 aside, 4m x 2m goals with goalkeepers, 2 games per week, ref provided

Uniform

• Years 1 and 2 can wear navy shorts and matching-colour T-shirts (all members of the group wearing the same T-shirt colour)
• Year 3 – 6 wear the KingsWay PE uniform
• Moulded/plastic boots & Turf/indoors shoes allowed – NO bare feet or Metal studs
• Shinpads are a must for all players

No coaching is given for Summer Football teams
If a parent or senior student would like to run a training session and the team would like to train, this can be arranged through the CDC of Summer Football

Season Information

• 7-a-side
• A maximum of 3 substitute players
• Teams must start the game with 5 players at least or lose by default
• All players must be registered for the teams they play in
• All teams have to provide a referee for one half of each game. To help keep costs affordable – and as this is a fun, social league – we encourage a parent volunteer to take on this role. Teams are welcome to rotate the responsibility among parents throughout the season. Another option is for a player to ref a game either side of their own game.
• Please note that on occasions, teams may play against teams in higher grades to give more variety / better competition.

Match Information

Grades 11 & 12

• 4:30pm start for Grades 11 & 12
• Matches will be 12 minutes each way with instant turnaround (2 games per week)
• Rolling substitutions
• Games commence on the sounding of the ‘Hooter’
• The ‘Hooter’ will sound for half-time, which is a straight turnaround with no stoppage

Youth/Senior

• 6:30pm start for youth/seniors
• Games will be 20 minutes each way with instant turn around (2 games per week)

• Teams must have an IDENTICAL coloured shirt or KWS PE kit. No Mufti. Bibs will be provided should there be a clash
• Moulded/plastic boots & Turf/indoors shoes allowed – NO bare feet or Metal studs
• Shinpads are a must for all players

No coaching is given for Summer Football teams.

Fees and Registration

Registrations open: 3pm Friday 11th September
Registrations close: 9am Friday 18th September

Fees:
Year 1 – 2: $55
Year 3 – 6: $58
Year 7 – 13: $58

Please note: All late registrations/late payments or manual registrations may incur an administration fee.

Kingsway School has a user pays policy for all sports. This means ALL fees must be paid prior to commencement of competition or play, unless an AP has been arranged with the sports department. Please e-mail sportadmin@kingsway.school.nz if you would like to set up such a payment. The Summer Footy charge includes: Club Fees, Administration fee, CDC (Code Development Coordinator)  costs.

Refunds: Students will not be permitted to be placed in a team unless they have registered and paid, or registered and paid their deposit (and started making AP payments).
If a student doesn’t make a side due to lack of numbers to make a complete team, their fees will be reimbursed, however, fees will not be reimbursed to students who don’t make their choice of team in their chosen code or who no longer want to play and who then choose to withdraw.  Once the teams are made up, if a child pulls out it can leave a team short, cause players to be swapped about in teams and a lot of work administratively both at school and at association level.
