Middle Years Uniform Requirements
The KingsWay School uniform helps to bring a sense of belonging and mutual respect for members of our community. Our uniform is distinctive, setting our students apart and is expected to be worn to a high standard in keeping with uniform code regulations. When students are in school uniform, school rules apply, and conduct should reflect our school values and special character.
Students can choose to wear combinations of uniform as stipulated by the uniform code. Uniform is to be purchased from the school Uniform Shop. Non-uniform items are NOT accepted.
- Navy knee-length school skirt OR school trousers
- Blue school blouse
- School jumper OR school jacket
- Black flat sandals (back strap compulsory) OR black polishable shoes with white knee-high socks, black opaque tights/stockings OR visible plain white ankle socks (no boots, high-tops, sports shoes or casual shoes)
- Plain scarf: Black, white, or navy
Hair & Jewellery
- Hairstyles for girls need to be neat and tidy and off the face
- Hair ties and bands: Black, white, or navy blue (no patterns)
- Only natural hair colours are permitted
- Girls may wear one small plain ear stud in the bottom of each ear lobe – gold or silver only
- Girls may wear one plain, flat ring
- Girls may wear a watch
- No other jewellery may be worn unless approved by Dean
- No makeup may be worn
- No nail polish may be worn
NOTE: Tattoos must not be visible when wearing school uniform including sporting/PE uniform.

- School jumper OR school jacket
- Black flat sandals (back strap compulsory)
OR
black polishable shoes with school socks (no boots, high-tops, sports shoes or casual shoes) - Plain scarf: Black, white, or navy
Hair & Jewellery
- Hair styles for boys need to be neat and tidy and off the face
- Only natural hair colours are permitted
- No piercings
- Boys may wear one plain, flat ring
- Boys may wear a watch
- No other jewellery may be worn unless approved by Dean
NOTE: Tattoos must not be visible when wearing school uniform including sporting/PE uniform.
PE Uniform for boys and girls is to be purchased from the school uniform shop. It is worn during PE periods only or as directed by school staff. Appropriate sporting footwear to be worn. Girls are permitted to wear exercise tights as part of the PE uniform. These are to be below the knee and a solid colour in black or navy blue.
Each year the school has to dispose of many items because the owners have not claimed them.
All clothing must be named to ensure return to the owner of the garment, when left in the playground or classroom.
Lunchboxes should have permanent labels affixed or be clearly named. The school is not responsible for misplaced items.
There are’ Lost Property’ drawers in the corridor near the student reception (Senior Campus) for the storage of lost property. Parents and students are encouraged to check these drawers if property has been misplaced.

Our Level 3 History students recently had a whirlwind trip to the Bay of Islands with Mrs Bain, Mr Bennett, and two amazing parents. They were taken on an in-depth tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, explored historical sites around Russell/Kororareka, sailed across the bay on the R Tucker Thompson ship, and visited Kemp House and the Stone Store in Kerikeri.
