The Arts

At KingsWay School we encourage a safe, grounded Christian learning environment where students compose, choreograph, devise and design their thinking to an exceptional level.

The Arts creates a space for students to explore and examine their learning through an alternate lens. This sets our students up with the skills to apply to their lifelong journey into their God given dreams.

Arts Week

27 – 30 September

KingsWay School is very excited to have it’s very first Middle and Senior School Arts Week in 2022! After what has been a crazy past couple of years, our students are finally able to display their wonderful works to a live audience. This year we have three shows, all hosted right here on campus, in the Senior Campus Event Centre. We are excited to transform this space into an Arts extravaganza for the entire week. Students have been working incredibly hard in classes and extra rehearsals to bring you music, dance and drama performances; as well as amazing works completed by our Visual Arts students. We are so excited to put on three magical shows for you and your whānau!

  • Middle School Show
A one-stop shop of different performances that have been created in curriculum classes but also in Wider Learning and in co-curricular groups this year. Come and experience our Middle School students from Years 7-9 who are so talented and have been working hard to bring you this show. Dance, Drama, singing, a variety of instruments, visual art pieces and plenty more!
This show will be held on Tuesday 27th September at 7:00pm.
  • Year 10-13 Drama & Music Evening
Our very first Drama and Music combined evening, where you can come to experience the Year 10-13 students and all their hard work from their curriculum classes this year. There will be items of comedy, jazz music, Absurdism, solo performances, and Clowning to name a few. If you love the theatre and love a good boogie to some great music, this one will be for you!
This show will be held on Wednesday 28th September at 7:00pm.
  • Year 10-13 Dance Showcase
Dance Showcase has always been a highlight of every year and 2022 will be no different! Our Year 10-13 Dance students have been working very hard on a variety of performances and genres this year, including Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre. We can’t wait for you to see all the magic that these students have created this year.
This show will be held on Friday 30th September at 7:00pm.

The Dance department is more than just a subject; we are a family. We champion each other, face challenges together and learn in our weakness.

The beautiful thing about Drama at KingsWay and learning through experience is the ability we have to understand and see the world through the eyes of Jesus.

The aim of the Music department is to allow students to become increasingly skilled musicians who bring glory to God’s name through their gift.

Visual Art

Visual Art celebrates multiple perspectives and understands that there are many ways to see and interpret the world.
