Primary School Leadership
KingsWay’s School Mission is to be a Christian community of learning that nurtures young people towards their full potential as servant leaders in the kingdom of God. This statement guides our Leadership programme in Year 6, where our senior students have the opportunity to be school leaders throughout their final year in primary and prepare them for Middle School.
As teachers, our shared vision for our students is to develop their character in the following areas.
- Servant Leadership: No job is too small or unimportant. I see a need and help. I care about the Kingsway vision. I want others to thrive and the Junior Campus to be the best it can be.
- Encouragement: I cheer others on and can get others to cheer, too. If someone else does well then we all win! I am growing in my faith in God and encouraging others to do the same.
- Enthusiasm: I have a ‘give it a go’ attitude and get involved.
- Reliable: I can be counted on to do what has been committed to, even when it doesn’t feel important or I don’t feel like it.
- High Standards: I try to make good choices at school and in my life. I carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability.
To provide opportunities for all Year 6 students to thrive in leadership roles throughout the year, the following Year 6 Councils will be available:
- Each council will have a specific focus and be led by a teacher.
- Students will select their primary council from the options provided and receive a badge representing their role.
- They may also choose to participate in additional councils if desired – depending on length of council responsibility
This structure ensures every student has the chance to engage meaningfully in leadership while exploring their interests across various areas.
