Senior 1st Teams & Tournament Information
Selection into a Senior 1st Team is a privilege and reflects a high level of responsibility, commitment, and accountability. As the most senior representatives of the school, players are ambassadors and are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of behaviour, performance, and pride at all times, both on and off the field, in alignment with the school’s values and Sports Code of Conduct.
Commitment and Attendance
All Senior 1st Team players are required, in accordance with the Player Attendance Policy, to attend all scheduled trainings and fixtures as set by the Coach. Players must prioritise their First Team commitments and ensure that other activities (e.g. music lessons or external commitments) are arranged outside of these times.
Game Day
Players — or parents if a player is unwell — must communicate weekly availability for trainings and games directly to the Coach, or via TeamReach if necessary, no later than two days prior to each scheduled fixture.
Training Sessions
If a player becomes unwell or is unable to attend training session or match, the Coach or Manager must be notified as soon as possible via TeamReach. Timely communication is essential to enable effective planning, preparation, and team organisation.
Representation and Conduct
All players must wear the school jacket with navy blue plain tracksuit pants, to and from all games and throughout tournament week. Mufti is not permitted.
Behavioural Management Policy
Any breach of expectations will be managed in accordance with the Sport Student Behavioural Management Policy and may result in consequences including removal from games or teams, along with further disciplinary action.
Team Selection and Playing Time
Senior 1st Teams/Premier Teams are competitive environments. Selection, playing time, and tournament eligibility are based on performance, team combinations, opposition, and coach discretion. Attendance does not guarantee equal playing time.
Tournaments and Events
Participation in tournaments is a privilege, not a right. Eligibility is assessed throughout the season, and the school reserves the right to withdraw any team or player up to and including tournament week.
Costs and Budgeting
Tournament fees typically include accommodation, competition entry, transport (including van/car hire and fuel), food, coach and manager expenses, teacher relief, NZSSSC levy, laundry, first aid supplies, and equipment. Costs may vary depending on the tournament location and the availability of accommodation.
A non-refundable $100 deposit is required upon registration once teams are named and the Tournament is confirmed.
