PLAYERS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
Inspire & Influence through Sport
At KingsWay School, sport is an opportunity to honour God, build character, and serve our community. All students who represent the school in sport are expected to uphold these values and commit fully to their team.
INSPIRE
- Attend all trainings and games (or consult with your coach/manager beforehand).
- Arrive punctually to trainings, pregame warmups, and matches & prioritise these over outside commitments.
- Treat coaches, managers, supporters, and teammates with courtesy & respect.
- Respect the opposition — there is no game without them.
- Represent the Special Character of KingsWay in all words, actions & attitude.
- Wear the KWS sports uniform only for games, wear it correctly and with pride, along with the appropriate & respectable gear to training.
INFLUENCE
- Play fairly at all times and strive for your personal best.
- Compete with integrity, humility, and courage —showing Christ centred character in all situations.
- Never argue with referees or umpires, accepting decisions respectfully and modelling self-control.
- Wear all required safety equipment (mouthguards, shin pads, etc.) for games and trainings.
- Lead by example on and off the sporting field, reflecting Christ in your actions.
- Build positive team culture through encouragement, work ethic and self-discipline.
Any breaches of the Players’ Code of Conduct will be dealt with by the Coach, CDC and DOS following the KingsWay School Sport Student Behavioural Management document.
BE A PLAYER WHO INSPIRES & INFLUENCES
SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT
Inspire, Invest & Influence through Sport
Supporters play a vital role in shaping the sporting environment at KingsWay. Your actions, words, and presence contribute to the development of our players and the culture surrounding our teams. Thank you for supporting our shared mission.
As a KingsWay supporter, I will:
INSPIRE – All players on the sporting field
- Be positive in my support for all KingsWay teams, players, and officials.
- Encourage an atmosphere where all children feel valued, included, and supported.
- Acknowledge good play from both teams, modelling fairness and respect.
- Celebrate effort and attitude, not just results, so children do not tie their self-worth to winning.
- Maintain a positive presence on the sideline, helping create an enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
INVEST – Walking Alongside Students and Coaches
- Show appreciation for all coaches, managers, referees, umpires, and volunteers who give their time so children can play.
- Never question, shout at, or abuse coaches, officials, or volunteers.
- Be a positive role model in my attitude, language, and behaviour.
- Teach and reinforce that playing by the rules and practicing fair play are essential elements of sport.
- Ensure that encouragement—not coaching—is my primary role on the sideline, avoiding instructions that may conflict with the coach’s leadership.
INFLUENCE – Performance, Leadership & Mission
- Avoid ridiculing, criticising, or shouting at any players.
- Demonstrate humility, grace, and patience, reflecting the Special Character of KingsWay School.
- Address any concerns with coaches respectfully and not during or immediately after games; instead, arrange a suitable time and place for conversation.
- Show leadership through calm, uplifting behaviour, even in moments of tension or disagreement.
- Influence positively by modelling respect, integrity, and encouragement, helping shape a sporting culture that honours God.
A Positive Sideline Makes a Lasting Difference
Your support, encouragement, and example help create a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.
