Touch Rugby

Season Information:

Touch games will be played on Wednesday afternoons at The Silverdale Rugby Club, in Silverdale. The season will run for 8 weeks from Wednesday 23rd October – Finishes December 11th 2024

Grades:
Yr 1&2 mixed
Yr 3&4 mixed
Yr 5&6 Boys, Yr 5&6 Girls

Times: 
Yr 1&2s 4pm
Yrs 3&4 – 4pm & 4:30pm
Yr 5&6 – 4:30 & 5:05pm

Duration: 8 full playing weeks. (We don’t extend the season and seldom cancel a week)

Teams play in KingsWay PE gear & trainers/sneakers.

Registrations Close: Wednesday 13th September.

Coaches and Managers:

If you are able to volunteer your time to coach or manage a team, please inform the Teacher in Charge of the code in which you wish to be involved. This is another great way to get to know your child’s friends and teammates and to positively influence the students. Please click here more information on this.

TOUCH RUGBY YEARS 9 -13

Season Information:

THERE IS NO TOUCH FOR YEAR 9 & 10 AT THE MOMENT BUT WE ARE LOOKING INTO A LOCAL LEAGUE TO ENTER. WATCH THIS SPACE

Touch games will be offered in Term 4 to Year 9 and 10 boys and girls if we have enough players.  The games will be played in term 4 on Tuesday afternoons between 4:00 – 6:30pm. There will be two games scheduled on the day per team. The season will run for 5 weeks from October –  November 2023.

Grades: Junior Boys, Junior Girls and Junior Mixed

Registrations Close: TBC

Venue: To be confirmed but most likely Sunnynook, Windsor Park or Becroft Park.

Competition Details:

• Maximum 14 players per team.
• Mixed teams needs at least 3 girls on the field.
• There will be two games scheduled per night.
• 12-minute halves with 1 minute half time break.
• Each team must supply a referee.
• Teams play in KingsWay PE gear & trainers/touch shoes.

Fees and Registration

Year 1-6: $65
Year 7 & 8: $65

Please note: All late registrations/late payments or manual registrations may incur an  administration fee.

Kingsway School has a user pays policy for all sports. This means ALL fees must be paid prior to commencement of competition or play, unless an AP has been arranged with the sports department. Please e-mail [email protected] if you would like to set up such a payment. The touch charge includes:

Touch Club Fees, Administration fee, Equipment, Teacher in Charge of Sport costs.

Refunds:

Students will not be permitted to be placed in a team unless they have registered and paid or paid their deposit & started making AP payments first.
If a student doesn’t make a side due to lack of numbers to make a complete team, their fees will be reimbursed, however, fees will not be reimbursed to students who don’t make their choice of team in their chosen code or who no longer want to play and who then choose to withdraw.  Once the teams are made up, if a child pulls out it can leave a team short, cause players to be swapped about in teams and a lot of work administratively both at school and at association level.
Exceptional circumstances – If games are cancelled due to extreme circumstances e.g. Covid we will refund any money we receive back from the sporting organisations and any costs not already paid out at the KingsWay end.
