Coaches & Managers
Coaching a team is very rewarding both for students and parents, as it offers an opportunity to positively influence the students whilst getting to know your child’s friends in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
WINTER SPORTS (Terms 2 & 3) or SEMESTER 1 or 2
A parent who can offer to coach a team and run training sessions for a two terms sport will be offered a $50 reduction off one of their child’s sports fees. This is for certain teams/sports. e.g. A games day Coach/Adult who does not do a separate training for the team does not qualify. If there is more than one coach the $50 will be halved or one coach selected by the TIC/Sports Dept on the experience/suitability/reliability and/or philosophy of the coach.
SUMMER SPORTS or 1 TERM ONLY SPORTS
A parent who can offer to coach a team and run training sessions for a full term will be offered a $25 reduction off one of their child’s sports fees. This is for certain teams/sports. e.g. A games day coach who does not do a separate training for the team does not qualify e.g Summer Football. If there is more than one coach, the $25 will be halved, or one coach will be selected by the TIC/Sports Dept based on the coach’s experience, suitability, reliability, and/or philosophy.
If you would like any clarification about a particular sporting code or team, please email the sports department.
The Manager’s role is a simple but invaluable one. Managers are mainly responsible for informing the team of times and venues of games that week and to remind the team to bring the necessary gear (e.g. drink bottles, shin guards, etc). This is done through the use of the Team Reach App. The sports department will provide you with the necessary contact details and the TIC will let you know where to find game information (times, maps, etc).
The Manager also gathers nominations for their team for sports prize giving towards the end of the season and forwards them to the sports department. Details on how to do this are sent out closer to the time.
