The Year 8 students celebrated Piripiri Day on Wednesday, 27th November. The word Piripiri is a Māori word which means "to keep close, to stick together". David Howie, Deputy Head Boy 2024, organised the boy's conference. David and other KingsWay senior boys and alumni young men spent the day sowing into the Year 8 boys' lives. The boys loved the team-building flag-making activities as well as the various games that were played. David and his team ended the day off with a panel that encouraged the boys to see their worth in who God created them to be.
The girls bonded together during a time of corporate worship, and they enjoyed the creative activities and games they played. The students were treated to a sausage sizzle during lunchtime to end the festivities.
A special thanks to David Howie and his team who gave up their time to invest in the Year 8 boys' lives. 💛 ... See MoreSee Less
Year 11 Lifelabs: Christmas Service Project
On Friday, 8th November, our Year 11 Lifelab classes were bustling with creativity as students crafted Christmas goodies to support Coast Youth Community Trust with their annual Christmas hampers. These hampers bring joy and relief to families in need within our community. The students worked together to produce a delightful array of festive items, including lolly bags, Christmas crackers, tree decorations, and handmade cards. It was great to see Year 11 students supporting this project, helping to spread kindness and joy to others this Christmas season.
A heartfelt thank you to our Year 11 families for your generous contributions of lollies, chocolates, wrapping paper and cardboard rolls, which made this initiative possible.

For 2024, the Environmental Council (led by Gloria Bong) decided to create a mural out of recycled glass, and the 2024 prefects decided to make this mural the Year 13’s gift to the school. 120 glass bottles and jars plus extra glass picked up from their organised beach clean-ups in Term 1 were all recycled, transforming the pieces into this mural (2.4m by 1.2m). ‘Manawanui’ was the Year 13’s camp theme this year, meaning ‘steadfast, strong’ (hence the symbol of the anchor). In Term 3, each year 13 student attached three pieces of glass to the mural’s ocean, creating a symbol of their unity. The Environmental Council is very proud to have been able to start this unique and ambitious project for the first time and give this to the school. ... See MoreSee Less

Congratulations to the KingsWay Evolocity Team
This past Saturday, 19 October 2024, our Evolocity Team, known as AE2 (led by Samuel Anderson, together with Tim Erasmus), competed in the Auckland Regional Finals, which took place at the RNZ Whenuapai Air Force base. For this season, the team decided to participate in the Open class, which means they were allowed to use a stronger motor (up to 2kW). The boys decided to enter a completely new build, which proved to be quite the challenge, but with help from the sponsors, Hi-Power Performance Silverdale and Motion Design, they completed their build and competed. Competition was fierce, and despite some setbacks and emergency repairs on the day, AE2 took second place overall in performance and second place in engineering design. Many valuable engineering lessons were learned, which will result in more fun and an improved design for next year. ... See MoreSee Less

Refurbished Bench
This bench, originally gifted to the school by the Class of 2005, has been carefully restored by current Year 12 Hard Material students Beau England and Caleb Bradley. Before this, the seat had lost most of the original varnish and had areas that had gone rotten.
The students stripped all the old varnish and repaired and filled the rotted areas. They then applied a two-pot marine epoxy finish to the seat to ensure it looks great and lasts many more years. Beau and Caleb invested more than 50 hours to fully restore the seat and its message. Thank you boys for your hard work 👏 ... See MoreSee Less
