On Monday 9th May, all Senior Drama students from Years 11-13, were involved in a full day devising workshop run by Massive Theatre Company. Massive is a professional contemporary ensemble company that emphasises physical theatre and uses real stories, telling these excitingly through Drama.
The students had three different sessions during the day that focused particularly on the use of body and voice, ensemble work and building a physical performance from a few simple starting ideas. It was fantastic to see students from different year levels work together to create some amazing performances, which they had the chance to show and share at the end of the day. They all got stuck into the different activities throughout the day and gave each one their full focus, attention and effort.
This workshop will benefit each student using the tools learned to create their own Devising pieces within the next two terms. We are super excited and can’t wait to see what they create!
