Farewell Chris Wyatt

It is with sadness that I announce that our much loved brother Chris Wyatt (Senior School Biology teacher) was promoted to glory yesterday after a long illness. Chris would have completed his 10th year of teaching at KingsWay School at the end of this year. He is well respected as one of the fathers of Christian education in the South Island. He was a friend to everyone and my last conversation with him had him laughing out loud at one of my average attempts at humour. He will be missed as a colleague, friend and Christian brother who fought the good fight and is at home with the Lord. Well done Chris, you will definitely sing with the angels.

Please pray for his wife Monica and family as they come to terms with the news as many family and friends will still be in transit.

This morning staff shared the news with classes during devotions. Please be aware that many of the senior students will be feeling fragile and will need to be comforted. Our counsellors Don Wilson and Michelle Youngs will be available for the next week to support students and staff.

When talking to your child about this you may want to remind them that Chris Wyatt is with the Lord now. We talk of hope as Christians. That is our privilege and gift.

Regards
Graeme Budler
(Executive Principal)
