Kia ora, my name is Jordan Barley. I am married to Alana and we have three children who attend KingsWay School. We are a local family, living in Stanmore Bay. I grew up on the Coast, and Alana attended KingsWay School, as a child. As a family we are involved in church at Life North.
It is an honour to serve as a Parent Representative on the Board of Trustees.
The past 15 years, I have worked as an educator in New Zealand and abroad across both public and private sectors. The last seven of these have been immersed in Christian education. I have had the privilege of crossing paths with many of our KingsWay families through my years teaching as a Classroom and Physical Education Teacher as well as being involved in School Leadership as Assistant Head of Primary School. A recent career change into the property sector has enabled me to practically apply the unique transferable skillset a teacher is equipped with, in the marketplace.
Along with my Education degree, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership in Digital and Collaborative Learning as well as a Diploma in Business Management. Coupled with my passion for and working knowledge of Christian education, this sets me in a unique position to continue to serve our community in this capacity, on the Board, as it outworks the strategic vision for KingsWay School.
I believe we are privileged to have Christian education of KingsWay’s calibre in our local area. My heart is to continue to see every learner thrive in Christ-centred learning environments; To discover their God-given giftings and grow in wonder of their Creator while authentically connected in a caring community of learning.
