Mission Trip to Pukekohe – Community Outreach 🌱✨️
Over the weekend of Saturday 2 – Sunday 3 May, a group of KingsWay students and teachers travelled to South Auckland for a weekend mission trip, accompanied by Mr Daniel, Miss Guillermo, and Mr Marriot from Motivate. The team partnered with Unity REK Church in Pukekohe to serve the local community and share God’s love through practical outreach.
The students demonstrated outstanding commitment, maturity, and enthusiasm throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the team set up in the Pukekohe town square, where they warmly engaged with members of the community. Activities included a free sausage sizzle, face painting, art and henna designs, as well as the distribution of free clothing and food items. Students confidently connected with community members, explaining the purpose of the outreach and sharing their faith where opportunities arose.
The trip also provided valuable time for fellowship with local youth from Unity REK Church and neighbouring churches, helping to build relationships and unity across communities. On Sunday, students led two worship items during the church service, and two students courageously shared their personal testimonies, which made a deep and lasting impact on the congregation.
The leaders of Unity REK Church expressed heartfelt gratitude for the visit and were deeply moved by the way every student and adult demonstrated the love of Jesus. While we may never know how many seeds were planted during this time, we trust that God will bring the growth for His kingdom and His glory (1 Corinthians 3:6–8).
