Encouraging students to think globally, communicate effectively, and engage thoughtfully with world issues.
Earlier this year, Jerry Zhang attended a Model United Nations (MUN) event in Auckland, where students from across the region gathered to take part in simulations of real United Nations meetings. Participants acted as diplomats, researching assigned countries and representing their interests within committees. Through debate, negotiation, and discussion of international issues, students worked together to address global challenges and develop proposed resolutions.
Inspired by the experience and conversations with event organisers, the idea emerged to establish a similar opportunity at KingsWay School. As a result, the Model United Nations Club was formed, providing students with a platform to develop skills in public speaking, negotiation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Throughout the year, students enthusiastically engaged in discussions and debates, exploring a range of global issues and gaining a greater understanding of the world around them. It has been wonderful to see confidence grow, friendships develop, and meaningful conversations take place within the club.
A sincere thank you to all students who participated in MUN this year and contributed to making it such a rewarding experience. We are grateful to God for His guidance, provision, and blessing throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing the club continue to grow in the years ahead.
