Tena koutou katoaGreetings to you all from Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga, Grace Learning Centre, satellite campus of KingsWay School.Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga was established in 2000 with a very unique vision and purpose – to nurture and to teach children in an environment of learning that is Biblically centred, bicultural in character and distinctly focused on growing the language of Te Reo Maori, to be bilingual. An environment where every child can experience God’s love for them and know they are valued just as they are.
Families that become part of Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga experience the richness of whanaungatanga – community. We value each member of our school community and always endeavour to create opportunities for meaningful participation and involvement, from the very youngest to the very oldest.
Our teaching and learning programmes are a blend of independent learning and collaborative learning groups. All students have the opportunity to learn at their own individual levels with high levels of one to one teacher support. They are also encouraged and guided to work in small groups, supporting one another and exercising the diverse gifts and talents each student brings to the group. We are increasingly using our local community, our environment, our history and the rich diversity of our cultural heritage to strengthen our children in the knowledge of who they are as New Zealanders.
At Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga we will equip students to engage in learning, apply their minds to excellence, strive to reach their potential, and become contributors in their communities through acts of service. We aim to develop attitudes and habits in our students, viewing themselves as successful learners, able to apply learning to real life contexts that are relevant and purposeful.Students are encouraged to value creation, all people, truth, personal faith and good character.
